Artecoll® is a long lasting injectable implant that is used to correct wrinkles and folds, enlarge bridge of the nose, enhance lip volume and soften acne scars. Composed of PMMA microspheres, which are suspended in a collagen solution, Artecoll® utilizes the body’s natural ability to encapsulate foreign bodies by forming a connective tissue around these microspheres. The process of encapsulation is complete in about 3 months.

How Artecoll works?

Artecoll is an exclusive blend of organic and synthetic compounds purified for cosmetic use. Artecoll’s synthetic compounds consist of polymethymethacrylate are combined with a bovine derived collagen gel to make up a long-lasting dermal filler. Furthermore Artecoll contains lidocaine which helps to minimize discomfort associated with the cosmetic procedure. Traditional dermal fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane and Sculptra are what are known as re-absorbable fillers. Their composition is slowly absorbed into the body and the procedures results diminish over time. Artecoll is not absorbed into the body and therefore its wrinkle improving results are permanent.

Artecoll Procedure Details

Like other dermal fillers Artecoll can be administered in an outpatient setting. Artecoll typically requires one or two treatments to achieve ideal results. For optimal results it is recommended that Artecoll be injected in several stages over the course of 1 to 3 months. The Artecoll procedure is typically performed in an outpatient capacity often in your doctor’s office. Depending on your needs the procedure can take as little as a few minutes.
